About the course
Space is no longer a sanctuary. Satellites that enable navigation, communication and intelligence are exposed to a growing range of counterspace capabilities. Protecting them, and preventing conflict from escalating in orbit, requires a clear understanding of how orbital warfare works.
The course covers the orbital environment, space systems and their vulnerabilities, counterspace capabilities and the operational challenges of a contested domain. A full-day operational exercise brings these elements together in a realistic scenario.
Who should attend
- Defence professionals and space planners
- Analysts assessing threats to space assets
- Decision-makers who need a solid grasp of space security
The Space Domain Awareness and Space Operations courses or equivalent experience are recommended.
What you will learn
- Understand orbital warfare as an operational domain within its legal framework
- Analyse space systems and constellations for vulnerabilities across all segments
- Assess counterspace capabilities and the operational implications of their use
- Apply structured thinking to orbital conflict scenarios in support of planning and decision-making
- Evaluate future-oriented space defence concepts
