About the course
Good plans do not start with a timeline. They start with a clear understanding of the problem, the desired end state and the constraints. In space, those constraints include orbital physics, scarce assets and long lead times.
This course introduces structured planning methodologies, decision-making frameworks and practical mission design for complex space and security environments. Theory and practical exercises alternate, so every method is applied right away.
Who should attend
- Space planners in national, NATO and EU headquarters
- Defence professionals involved in operational planning and mission preparation
- Analysts supporting planning teams
Experience in space operations or completion of the Space Operations course is recommended.
What you will learn
- Apply the principles of operational design and mission design
- Explain the COPD framework and contribute to CONOPS development
- Run a mission planning process from tasking to an executable plan
- Build and use Black Line Plans to synchronise activities over time
- Apply advanced planning methodologies in a practical space scenario
