About the course
No modern operation runs without space. Navigation, communications, intelligence, missile warning and weather support all depend on it, and all of them can be contested.
This course shows how space fits into the joint force: who asks for which support, who coordinates it and how space effects are synchronised with the other domains. You also examine what happens to joint operations when space services are degraded or denied.
Who should attend
- Staff officers in joint and component headquarters
- Space officers and liaison officers working with other components
- Land, maritime and air planners who need to understand space support
- Civilian defence staff involved in multi-domain operations
What you will learn
- Explain joint command structures and where space expertise sits within them
- Describe space support to the joint force: navigation, communications, ISR, missile warning and environmental monitoring
- Integrate space requirements and effects into joint planning and targeting
- Coordinate across domains through liaison, battle rhythm and requests for support
- Anticipate the effects of degraded or denied space services on joint operations
